What Is Astaxanthin?
Astaxanthin is a powerful natural antioxidant, more active than beta-carotene and lycopene in neutralizing free radicals. Studies suggest benefits for cardiovascular, respiratory, joint health, athletic performance, and more.
It’s what gives salmon its red color. While krill naturally contain astaxanthin, we supplement our formula for maximum potency.
Benefits of Krill
- Contains choline in krill phospholipids (not found in fish triglycerides). Choline is a precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

What Are Krill & Where Do They Come From?
Krill are small, shrimp-like marine crustaceans (Euphausiacea) found in all oceans, harvested sustainably from Antarctic waters. They feed on phytoplankton and fuel marine food chains for fish, birds, and whales. Antarctic krill live up to 10 years.
Krill oil is rich in omega-3s without fishy burps or aftertaste and contains higher astaxanthin levels than fish oil.
